Damn its been a long time

I come back for the first time in.....like 8 months and the layout and everything has changed, plus I'm no longer a member of the blogring, I mean really wtf.

School goes well, I'm busy blah blah blah, I got a CB750 back in november, its a 74 and not the pinnacle of performance but I am slowly collecting bad ass parts and one day will have a bad mama jama motor bike.  Rebecca and I are looking for a house, preferable with a large garage so I can sort of set up a small scale shop, probably get a benchtop lathe, mill, and various other grinding tools and start small scale production of performance parts for my bike.  I'm thinking I can turn out performance bushings, cross drill and surface grind brake disk that kind of thing.

Thats about it, I'll try to keep this thing more updated, I should be home March 9th I guess give me a call if you want to do something, most of you probably don't have my new phone number so just email me.

Doe Vs. Erskine has been settled now, therefore I dont have to testify....not that I was against it I would have very much like to have sunk the plaintiffs preverbal battleship, but all the same I'm glad its over and thus ends the shittyest period of my life hopefully.

My work this week didnt go very well, my signal at best was dodgie, and totally irreproducible from day to day.  Travis (the guy who really knows this instrument) will be back on Monday and so I'll go over everything that did and didnt work then.  I had a chance to be a research badass if I had been able to do this all by my lonesome and I kinda blew it, but hey it wont be my last chance.

Rebecca is at camp, she'll be coming home on the 17th, and I'll be free then as well, so I'm going to come down as well.  If you want to hang out in Atown, we might be able to pencil you in.

If rebecca gets a job, and we're able to pay for things like food, housing, and a wedding, then I'm going to start renting a garage.  That way I can bring the fastback up here, a ridiculous car for anyone in my situation to own but none the less I love her.  Plus I got a motorcycle project I want to work on.  I'm not thinking anything real big, no frame off restoration or anything, but I want to have a slightly custom bike, so I'll take some things off and send them out to be painted, and I may put some race parts in the motor.  I havent gotten the bike yet, that follows getting a garage to keep it in but I know  what I want and how much she should cost.  I like scramblers

I guess I'm due for a quick update.  I got a pretty cool project I'm working on for school, its really complicated, and I dont really understand all of it, suffices to say it isnt exactly working yet, and I dont really think its worth covering too indepth other than to say I have work, and work is good.

I have one more cume to take this summer, its on June 10th, and in a topic I should pass so that will be good.

I've been sorta talking to a guy via email about the possibility of building a wicked bike up.  The more I think about it, the less I want a cafe racer and the more I want a slightly tweeked up factory bike.  The main limited factor right now is finances, followed by a close second lack of a garage, which is addition to reason number three a serious lack of time.  But I love to build things so much.

I'm playing IM softball now, on both a mens team and a coed team.  My batting, and slugging percentages are pretty awesome, I'm batting well over .600 and in a pretty competitive league.  But my fielding blows, and I feel slow compared to the other guys out there, plus I think I may have injured myself for the rest of the league, when I went to a full sprint today, I beat the throw, but my groin doesnt feel right now.....

it never does.....

I finished exams on friday, dont know my grades yet, hopefully I'm still a graduate student.

I watched the sentinal today...it was okay, actually I'll go ahead and say it was pretty good it got me into the movie enough so that I'm into it.  It had a few plot holes, and the guys need to talk to a firearms specialist they had a few things which were pretty wrong but I guess they dont care about the details too much it looks right so it must be right to them.

I'll be down for Rebecca's graduation at the end of next week.

Oh yeah, I saw the preview for tokoyo drift, the next in the fast and furious series.  I havent seen the other two, and dont plan on it, as a car guy they make me kinda sick.  But I saw that one of the main characters personal car is in fact my exact car.  He's got an f*ing 65 mustang fastback, british racing green with white stripes and the GT exhaust, and mousetrap harnesses.  Its like they went and took a look in my garage before they designed his car.  Kinda makes me pissed, its the first one I've ever seen like it other than mine.

I passed another cume this week, only 3 more to go and then I would be done forever.  I only have to get marginally lucky to do that, if not I got the rest of this year and all of next to get another 4.

Gas prices are insane, and with the instability with Iran they stand a good chance of getting worse, if you want a fuel explaination of that talk to me one-on-one I have alot of ideas about their current military stratigies.  So with the increased cost of fuel I of course think....why cant I make my own.  Well you can, if you own a diesel, and the stuff cost almost nothing, so I have been reading about it....alot.  Anyway I was reading about how there are some problems with it, like homebrew stuff my clog up injectors and filters and pumps because the reactions only partially go, and then you get alot of glycerin and a bunch of other shit left in there.  They got test to tell you how pure you are ASTM codes or somthing like that, but apparently you have to send samples off, and it cost like $500 plus.

I saw that and I was like, oh man I guess I'll never make this stuff, cause I wouldnt know if I made it right, I cant afford to test it, and how bad would it suck for you to blow a motor due to crappy homebrew.  And then on the bus today it occured to me....I'm an analytical chemist, at the top analytical school around, what could these guys be doing that I cant to test this stuff out.  And so I looked it up, and the skinny is, they are charging $500, to do about an half hours work on a GC, and instrument I did alot of research on at Erskine.  I mean, I could go into busness right now doing the same thing, and charge $25 and make a killing, although I wonder what happens when you wrong....I wonder how bad you could get sued.

Hmmmm.....thats about it
